Cluttered.
Lately I've been having the "my closet is full of clothing, yet I have nothing to wear" syndrome. Maybe it has something to do with having gained a bit of weight over the past year so clothes don't fit like they once did. Maybe I just have too much stuff that I don't use regularly enough. To be honest, I need to dedicate my time to editing my closet.
Since I started blogging, I have significantly increased my wardrobe. Blogging was supposed to be inspirational for me, but it turned into a force that drive consumerism for me. I need to strike a good balance of appreciating the things I have, enjoying the options out there, and NOT over consuming. Blogging can create a desire to be overcome with fast-food type fashion.
It is time for me to get back to the roots my blog: I want to focus on meticulously editing my personal style while interacting with and being inspired by other bloggers. Watch out closet, I'll be making some cuts.
Where do you begin with editing your wardrobe?

I look forward to seeing all your editing solutions - I put myself on a system of regular purging, thrift store shopping, and a fairly strict shopping budget in order to not get overwhelmed!

Yep...I know exactly what you mean! I've finally slowed down on the shopping front and don't buy as much.
I start by getting rid of things I don't really wear (but I do keep "classic" items just in case)...

I know just how you feel, Lisa; in fact, you articulated how I sometimes feel about my closet and blogging in a far more elegant way than I could have. When it comes to closet cleanouts, I always start working instinctively. I cut things I know I'm not going to wear again first, regardless of their value, newness, etc. Then, if I'm still feeling like I need to purge, I move on to the pieces that have limited uses.
Good luck!

Yes, I think that happens to most fashion bloggers... I just get so overwhelmed and never know what to wear, so I keep wearing the same few things over and over and ignoring the rest!
Then if I try to get rid of it... I cant!
Chic on the Cheap
im doing a series on this in early january--organizing the closet and such. my best tip: if you can't wear it 3 ways or more, don't buy it.
PS: Just a few hours left to enter my STYLEMINT GIVEAWAY for 5 shirts.
I salute you for wanting to get back to your roots and de-cluttering everything :) With editing my actual wardrobe, I go through and just ask myself, "Will I really wear this 3 more times?" and if the answer is no, I donate it to a charity or I ask a friend if she wants it because I know it'll probably look better on her lol. Hope you have a great weekend :)
I feel your pain. I'm unpacking after moving and I feel like I have way too many clothes! However, I am totally jealous of your amazing closet!
that sounds like a fun project. i cut things that i don't feel 100% awesome in first!
Yay! This is great news because I seriously love your sense of style so much.
Oh, I know exactly how you feel and have been itching to do the same thing. It's amazing how quickly a closet can grow to become overwhelming. I'm to the point where I can't find what I want to wear, which is frustrating. My first step will be taking out things that I don't wear often and putting them in storage. I don't want to get rid of some things too soon in case I do want them again.
